Currently, there are nineteen faculty members in the the PE Department, which includes seventeen lecturers, two professors, seven associate professors. In the faculty team of PE Department, one has obtained doctoral degree, over ten received master degree. As for the social titles of our teachers, one is chosen as a member of National College Physical Education Steering Committee, one selected as Excellent Teacher of Beijing, one awarded as Master Teacher of Beijing, one entitled as referee at international level and three referees at national level. With fully functional facilities and reasonable layout, PE Department is equipped with a comprehensive stadium, gas film training center, student activity center (table tennis training hall, aerobics exercise room, spinning class room, fitness center), standard swimming pool, tennis court, standard track field, illuminated basketball court, outward bound training, etc.

Over the years, PE Department emphasizes on the renewal of teaching philosophy and the development of its own characteristics, gradually forming the unique physical education style based on sports teaching platform, after-class physical exercises and sports competitions. At present, BPC possesses 17 sports teams(sports club), 5 perennial training teams, and have participated in 29 sports events organized for national vocational colleges and capital vocational colleges all year round.

BPC has consecutively been awarded as excellent college in the Basic Standards of Physical Education in Colleges and Universities formulated by Capital Institutions of Higher Learning. The course of public physical education has been assessed as Beijing Excellence Course and National Excellence Course. PE Department has completed two key scientific research projects at school level, more than ten general scientific research projects, two latitudinal projects at provincial and ministerial level, one project of Beijing Social Science Fund, and two Thirteenth Five-year Plan research project  of the Higher Education Academy. PE Department has won the champions of Longzhou, basketball, football, and taekwondo in the competitions among capital and Beijing higher institutions for many times. Favorable achievements have been also obtained in badminton, billiards, table tennis and so on.

With the strong capability in social service, PE Department has successfully undertaken the organization of sports events and competitions among the capital and Beijing higher institutions. In addition, 4 teachers of PE Department have participated in the refereeing work of Olympic Games, World Championships, Asian Championships and National Games.
