On the afternoon of October 26 (Beijing time), BPC and Sino-Zam Vocational College of Science and Technology jointly held an online seminar for majordockingofoverseas sub-college. Member of the Standing Committee of Party Committee and Vice President Zhou Yan, Vice President of Information Engineering College Fang Yuan, Vice President of Electromechanical Engineering College Zhang Puqing, Vice Presidents of International Education College Meng Qing and Xie Ligao, Deputy Director of the Education and Training Department of China Nonferrous Metal Industry Human Resource Center (CNMIHR)Zhu Lihua, Foreign President of Sino-Zam Vocational College of Science and TechnologyJorick Yamvwa,Assistant to the PresidentWang Nan, the professional teacher of our Information Engineering College Tian Xiaoling, the professional teachers of Electromechanical Engineering College Zhang Mingzhu, Zeng Jinxiang and Bao Jiaqian, the professional teachers of our Automation and Information Technology Sub-college of Sino-Zam Vocational College of Science and Technology Simbeye Andrew and Musonder Chester, as well as relevant staffs of International Education College, attended the seminar.

MR.Jorick Yamvwa introduced the professional construction and teaching situation of Sino-Zam Vocational College of Science and Technology at first, and expressed his gratitude on behalf of Sino-Zam Vocational College of Science and Technology for the help and support from our school. He indicated that Sino-Zam Vocational College of Science and Technology had become the best vocational school in south central Africa at present. In the next step, the College would continue to make efforts to improve connotation construction, hardware facilities, teaching quality and comprehensive education ability.

The seminar focused on the teaching problems existing in the major construction of our Automation and Information Technology College, the overseas sub-college of Sino-Zam Vocational College of Science and Technology of our school. Mr. Simbeye Andrew and Mr. Musonder Chester, teachers from the overseas sub-college, reported on the teaching situation and the challenges to be addressedof Automation and Information Technology Major. Zhang Mingzhu and Zeng Jinxiang, the teachers from Electromechanical Engineering College,carried out in-depth exchanges with teachers from overseas sub-college in aspects such as teaching resource sharing, practical training equipment assistance, teacher training and guidanceon behalf of the participating professional teachers of our school.

Vice President Zhou Yan highly affirmed the work of Zambian teachers inAutomation and Information Technology Major, and said that regarding the problems raised by several teachers, such as the shortage of teaching resources and the lack of practical training equipment, Beijing Polytechnic College would work together with China Nonferrous Metal Mining(Group)Co.,Ltd.(CNMC), China Nonferrous Metal Industry Human Resource Center (CNMIHR) and other domesticsister colleges and universities to work out countermeasures and solve the problems raised by Zambian teachers one by one, so as toprovide overseas teaching assistance as soon as possible. Vice President Zhou Yan also put forward three requirements on overseas sub-college teaching. First, make full use of existing resources to complete teaching tasks; Second, insist on self-improvement to ensure the quality of teaching; Third, establish a liaison mechanism to ensure normal communication between teachers from China and Zambia. Meanwhile, she hoped to receive professional teachers from overseas sub-college of our school to study here as soon as possible after the epidemic.

Since its establishment, Sino-Zam Vocational College of Science and Technology has made remarkable achievements in training talents, led the internationalization of vocational education and won high recognition from the government. The case of Sino-Zam Vocational College of Science and Technology has been selected into the Reader for Pupils on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era (for senior grade in primary school) compiled by the Ministry of Education upon approval of Party Central Committee. The Ministry of Education listed the college as one of the achievements in the reform and development of vocational education since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in the press conference of “The Decade of Education”. The new Zambian President Hichilema expressed his active support for the construction and development of the college, and would increase the efforts in talent training, which would be included in the national plan.
