On March 14, 2023, the third session of the first board meeting of China-Zambia Vocational and Technical College was held in Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province. The member of the Standing Committee of Party Committee and Vice President Zhou Yan and Deputy Director of International Exchange and Cooperation Department Meng Qing of our school attended the meeting.

Deputy Director of the Comprehensive Reform Division of the Department of Vocational and Adult Education of the Ministry of Education Li Hongdong, Deputy Director of HR Department of China Nonferrous Metal Mining (Group) Co., Ltd. (CNMC) Gong Yani, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of China Nonferrous Metal Industry Human Resource Center (CNMIHR) Song Kai, Secretary of the Party Committee, President and General Manager of CNMC Luanshya Copper Co., Ltd. Wang Jingjun, as well as leaders of ten domestic pilot colleges for vocational education “going global”, directors and teachers of China-Zambia Vocational and Technical College, attended the board meeting.

In the morning, a seminar on international exchange of vocational education was held. Zhou Yan, Vice President of our school, gave suggestions on “going global” for vocational education and the development of China-Zambia Vocational and Technical College with the title of “Exploration and Practice of International Education of Beijing Polytechnic College”.

In the afternoon, the meeting deliberated and adopted the Proposal on Changing the Director of the Board of China-Zambia Vocational and Technical College, the Work Report of China-Zambia Vocational and Technical College (2021-2022), the Financial Report of China-Zambia Vocational and Technical College (2021-2022), the Proposal on the Appointment of the President of China-Zambia Vocational and Technical College (2023) and other important proposals. The meeting confirmed that Mr. Wang Jingjun, Secretary of the Party Committee, President and General Manager of CNMC Luanshya Copper Co., Ltd. as well as Director of China-Zambia Vocational and Technical College, was appointed as the President of China-Zambia Vocational and Technical College, and Meng Qing, Deputy Director of International Exchange and Cooperation Department of our school, was appointed as Director of China-Zambia Vocational and Technical College.

Li Hongdong, Deputy Director of the Comprehensive Reform Division of the Department of Vocational and Adult Education of the Ministry of Education, highly praised the educational achievements of China-Zambia Vocational and Technical College, and encouraged vocational schools to continue to do a good job in “going global”. He indicated that with China-Zambia Vocational and Technical College as an important reference, they would formulate policies and issue documents at governmental level in the future to continue to support the “going global” work of vocational education.

In the face of the post-epidemic era, overseas education enters a new stage. In the third session of the first board meeting of China-Zambia Vocational and Technical College, they summarized the phased achievements, rearranged the organizational structure, improved the system, determined the development strategy in the post-epidemic era, and also pointed out the direction for our school to further run the overseas branch of China-Zambia Vocational and Technical College and Confucius classroom.
