At 7:00a.m. on March 28 (Beijing time) (20:00p.m. on March 27 (Argentina time)), the opening ceremony of the second phase of Chinese language and culture training from Beijing Polytechnic College - Argentina Lithium-Potassium Chinese Workshop was heldsuccessfully. Xu Yunfeng, Vice President of Argentina Lithium-Potassium Co., Ltd.Yuan Mei, Vice General Manager of Argentina Lithium-Potassium Co., Ltd.Ji Xinsheng, Minister of Economy and Public Services in Salta of Argentina Roberto Dib Ashur, Secretary of the Education Department in Salta Diego López Morillo, President of the Association of Engineers in Salta (Copaipa)Marianela Ibarra Afranllie, President of the Foundation of the Association of Engineers in Salta (Fundación Copaipa) Felipe Biella, the representatives of community relations from Santa Rosa and San Antonio, as well as the teachers responsible for the training and the students participating in this training, attended the opening ceremony.

At first, all people watched the promotional video for the first phase of Chinese language and culture training. In the second half of 2022, the first phase of Chinese language and culture training activity was jointly held by our school and Argentina Lithium-Potassium Co. Ltd, the sub-subsidiary held byTibet Summit Resources Co., Ltd. The first phase of training, with a combination of online and offline teaching mode, took place simultaneously in three offline locations in Salta for 7 weeks and was attended by 93 local Argentine students. This was the first “Chinese Workshop” training project of our school in Latin America, as well as the first of such training in Argentina. This training opened a window of opportunity for Salta residents to learn about Chinese culture, improved the students’ Chinese language skills, appreciated the beauty of Chinese culture and deepened the cultural and people-to-people exchanges between China and Argentina.

In order to accelerate the vigorous development of “Chinese+TVET” education, consolidate and continue the achievementsfrom the first phase of training activity, the “Chinese Workshop” project of our school organized the second phase of Chinese language and culture training in Salta.It was designed to further improve the Chinese proficiency and vocational skills of local employees in Argentina, give full play to the role of international Chinese education and vocational education in serving international production capacity cooperation, facilitate the long-term, stable and sustainable development of Chinese enterprises in the region, promote the win-win results of China-Argentina economy and enhance the people-to-people exchanges and friendly cooperation between the two peoples.

Vice President Zhou Yan, on behalf of the school, wished the training a complete success and once again thanked the leaders from the Education Department in Salta of Argentina, the Association of Engineers in Salta and Argentina Lithium-Potassium Co., Ltd. for their strong support. “In the second half of 2022, with the joint efforts of all parties from China and Argentina, the first phase of Chinese language and culture training was successfully held, which built a bridge of cultural exchanges between the two peoples, helped the residents of Salta to learn Chinese and understand Chinese culture, and made good training achievements. I would like to congratulate the students participatingin the first phase on their successful completion of the training. Today, we will launch the second phase of Chinese culture training activity of ArgentinaLithium-Potassium Chinese Workshop. We will teach Chinese and introduce China in an all-round manner to the Argentine people again. We will strengthen communication through language and enhance mutual understanding and recognition. This year, we will send the best teachers to Argentina to help the people of Salta learn Chinese and carry out relevanttraining in vocational skills, serve the community residents and local enterprises, boost the economic development of Salta, promote the exchanges and cooperation between China and Argentina and further deepen the friendship between the two countries.”

Minister of Economy and Public Services in Salta of Argentina Roberto Dib Ashur attended the opening ceremony and said that the training was of great significance to promote the mutual understanding in culture between the two countries. Regardless of the long distance between our two countries, he hoped that Argentine students could be able to study Chinese in China in the future. President of the Foundation of the Association of Engineers in Salta (COPAIPA) Felipe Biella expressed her gratitude to Beijing Polytechnic College and Argentina Lithium-Potassium Co., Ltd. for providing such opportunities for cultural exchange between the two countries once again. The new training mode of “Chinese+TVET” not only helped local employeesto improve their vocational skills, but also deepened bilateral language and cultural exchanges, which would benefit all parties. Secretary of the Education Department in Salta of ArgentinaDiego López Morillo was entrusted by Minister of Education in SaltaMatthias Canepa to deliver a speech on behalf of him. He was very happy to attend the opening ceremony of the Chinese Language and Culture training activity of Argentina Chinese Workshop again. On behalf of the Education Department in Salta, he expressed his gratitude to the efforts of Beijing Polytechnic College. Ji Xinsheng, Vice General Manager of Argentina Lithium-Potassium Co., Ltd. congratulated the students participating in the first phase of training on their completion and encouraged the students participating in the second phase of training to achieve excellent results.

At the end of the ceremony, the distinguished guests presented the certificate of training completion and took a group photo for the outstanding students of the first phase of training.

Our schoolworked together with Argentina Lithium-Potassium Co., Ltd. to successfully obtain the approval of the first “Chinese Workshop” in South America by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education, namely Argentina Lithium-Potassium Chinese Workshop. It aims to improve the Chinese proficiency and vocational skills of local employees of enterprises in Argentina, help the development of local enterprises, give full play to the role of international Chinese education and vocational education in serving international production capacity cooperation, boost the win-win results of China-Argentina economy, and enhance the people-to-people exchanges and friendly cooperation between the two peoples. In the future, the “Chinese+TVET” base of our school will rely on the “Chinese Workshop” and other projects. The government, school, industry and enterprise will work together to cultivate more talents with “Chinese+TVET”, so as to provide strong driving force for the high-quality development of the “Belt and Road Initiative”.
