On the morning of March 2, Zhou Yan, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of the university, led a team to Beijing Language and Culture University for surveys. Wei Hui, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Beijing Language and Culture University, Guo Peng, Assistant to the President, Dean of Graduate School and Director of the Department of International Chinese Education, Zhou Xin, Director of the Department of International Student Enrollment, Su Yingxia, Dean of Accelerated Chinese Language Studying College of the Department of International Chinese Education, Jiang Liping, Vice President of the Institute of International Chinese Education, and Dai Yuanyuan, Deputy Director of the International Chinese Education Practice and Research Base, warmly received the group of our school.

Deputy Secretary Wei Hui extended a warm welcome to Vice President Zhou Yan and her delegation, and briefly introduced the history and development of Beijing Language and Culture University, as well as the experience and achievements in aspects such as talent training, education and teaching, scientific research and faculty. He said that Beijing Language and Culture University was a comprehensive university featuring international Chinese education with advantagesin language education and research, and it had formed brand advantages and world influence in the field of international Chinese education. As the demand for international talents mastering Chinese languagewas constantly changing, one of our major tasks at present was to adapt to this new demand in talent development. “Chinese+TVET”was an important direction for the transformation and upgrading of our international Chinese education. Realizing the integrated development of international Chinese education and vocational education would become an important way to expand the application field of Chinese in the world.

Vice President Zhou Yan expressed her gratitude to Beijing Language and Culture University for its warm reception, and introduced the school’s achievements in aspects such as its basic information, international development and “Chinese+TVET”. She mentioned that the schoolwas based on the positioning of “to be high-end, quality, informative and internationalized”, and actively served the “Belt and Road” Initiative. It participated in the “Going Global” pilot project of vocational education of the Ministry of Education, and assumed the construction of two sub-colleges of Automation & Information Technology and Jewelry Design &Processing of China-Zambia Vocational and Technical College. Relying on the “Chinese+TVET” education practice and research base and the Chinese Workshop project, a series of effective training activities had been carried out. Beijing Language and Culture University and Beijing Polytechnic College had their own advantages in international Chinese education and vocational education, soshe hoped that the two schoolscould further carry out efficient and practical cooperation in the educational field of “Chinese+TVET”to promote the high-quality development of international “Chinese+TVET”.

Afterwards, the two sides had full exchanges and discussions on the possible cooperation in various fields related to “Chinese+TVET”. Bothof the two schools said that “Chinese+TVET” had a broad prospect,so they could actively promote the cooperation between them, so as to cultivate high-end international versatiletalents with Chinese, technical and cultural skills for national “Belt and Road Initiative” and the economic and social development of the capital.
