An Jiangying (Principal of our College) extended a warm welcome to all participants on behalf of our College and introduced the abundant international school-running achievements and experience achieved by our College in recent years. Our college, as a Beijing-level “the Belt and Road” national talents training base, held five phases of “Chinese+TVET” training for Zambia, Myanmar, Mongolia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, etc. along “the Belt and Road”. At present, COVID-19 breaks out globally. However, COVID-19 cannot hinder the sincere wish of people from every corner of the world for mutual exchange and cooperation. In the past two years, the international exchange and cooperation projects and relevant training organized by our College are all held online. In 2021, our College co-founded “Chinese+TVET” educational practice and research base with the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education, setting up online Chinese+TVET training classes for excellent teachers from 5 African countries and employees from Indonesian PT Dairi Prima Mineral respectively and holding Chinese Bridge “Chinese+TVET” online training camp for 118 trainees from Thai Krirk University and Khon Kaen University. Principal An quoted an allusion in Tao Te Ching and made an analogy between “Chinese” and “water” to emphasize the significant role of communication among different cultural backgrounds in civilization development. He pointed out the following well-known saying - “The highest goodness is like water. Water benefits all things and does not compete.” Exchange and mutual learning make civilization more colorful and rich. There will be wider exchange in various aspects including culture, tourism, media, human resources, youth development, etc., between Thailand and China in the future, and Beijing Polytechnic College is willing to contribute a little to Thai-Sino people-to-people bond, exchange and development through “Chinese+TVET” training.
Principal An Jiangying made a welcome speech.
Counselor Feng Junying expressed warm congratulations to the holding of this activity on behalf of Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Kingdom of Thailand, and she pointed out that Thailand and China enjoy profound friendship and a long history of cooperation and that the Thai-Sino traditional friendship has developed in an overall manner since establishing diplomatic relations 47 years ago. In recent years, there is an upsurge in “Chinese-mania” in Thailand; more and more Thai people are keen on learning Chinese; the demand for Thai local Chinese learning increases continuously, and Chinese becomes one of the most popular foreign languages there. Currently, in Thailand, more than 2,000 primary and middle schools as well as universities set up Chinese course, and the number of on-campus Chinese learners exceeds one million. Under this background, it is especially important to improve the teaching ability and standard of Thai local Chinese teachers. This training aims at practicing the knowledge and skills of Thai local Chinese teachers in an overall manner, which will greatly promote the high-quality development of Thai local Chinese teaching and train a large number of excellent local Chinese teachers. Counselor Feng Junying expressed her sincere gratitude to Center for Language Education and Cooperation of Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, Beijing Polytechnic College, Beijing Language and Culture University, Thai Teacher Foundation and Thai-Sino Education Association as well as other participating units. She also expressed her hope that all trainees would cherish this invaluable learning opportunity to improve Chinese teaching skills and train more Thai-Sino friendship messengers in the future.

Thanarat Ph.D. (Chairman of Thai Teacher Foundation) expressed his gratitude to Chinese government, Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, Center for Language Education and Cooperation and our College for elaborate training-relevant arrangements on behalf of all trainees. He pointed out that this training is transnational educational cooperation aiming at improving the Chinese teaching standard of Thai local teachers and helping Thailand reserve more Chinese teachers. He also expressed his hope that Thai trainees would cherish this learning opportunity and accomplish this training task. Moreover, he expressed his expectation of maintaining long-term sound cooperation with relevant Chinese units in the future.
Thanarat Ph.D., Chairman of Thai Teacher Foundation, made a speech online.
Tian Xin (Vice Director of International Education Management Services and Confucius Institute Division of Beijing Language and Culture University) emphasized the following issue. Under the background of increasingly close Thai-Sino relationship, the demand of Thai people for Chinese learning increases gradually, and Chinese teacher insufficiency is increasingly obvious there. To solve the teacher insufficiency problem, we must rely on local forces. She made two training-relevant suggestions. The first suggestion involves adapting to the “age descending” trend of Chinese learners and strengthening the professional and vocational construction of Chinese education teacher team, while the second one involves innovating cooperation philosophy, giving full play to “Chinese+TVET” educational practice and research base and deepening Thai-Sino “Chinese+” educational cooperation.
Tian Xin, Vice Director of International Education Management Services and Confucius Institute Division of Beijing Language and Culture University, made a speech online.
At the end of this start ceremony, Taweesuk (Teacher from a public school in Bangkok, Thailand) expressed gratitude to all organizing parties for providing this invaluable learning opportunity on behalf of all trainees and expressed determination to cherish this training opportunity to make contributions to Chinese education in Thailand.
Teacher Taweesuk, a trainee representative, made a speech.
This Thai Chinese teacher training project is vigorously supported by both Thai and Chinese governments, as training is of great significance to the improvement of the international Chinese teaching quality of Thai local teachers and the deepening of Thai-Sino educational cooperation. Our College, as a “Chinese+TVET” educational practice and research base, will perfect excellent and high-quality teaching resources and various brand projects elaborately in the future to make “Chinese+TVET” realize integrated and innovative development and constantly obtain new breakthroughs.
